The Shield pre-show lecture: Adapting Ancient Literature for the Stage

The Production team from The Shield will lead a presentation and dialogue on adapting ancient comedic literature for today's audiences, especially the use of humor for healing in times of war.

These physical actor training methods encourage the actor’s awareness of their body, voice, and presence on stage as individuals and ensemble. Drawing from traditional Japanese and Greek theater, martial arts, and dance, actor’s explore center of gravity and elements of time and space for performance.

Little Theatre of Norfolk is collecting names, photos, and a blurb from women in the military, past and present, to feature on our Wall of Honor inside our greenroom. It's our way of paying respect and showing appreciation, especially during Women's History Month and ahead of National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29.
